Job Description PURPOSE:
To ensure the acquisition of high quality goods/services at the best possible prices by negotiating and monitoring contracts with selected suppliers. Novo Nordisk Inc will realize increased investment efficiency of monies spent and ensure fair value and service accountability.
RELATIONSHIPS:
This position will report directly to the Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing. The selected candidate will interact with internal stakeholders, budget managers and key suppliers of goods/services. This position will support sourcing activity in key sourcing areas as determined by the Senior Director as well as collaborate and ensure completion of tasks by the departmental Administrator and assigned Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable staff as required. This position will also provide key support to the VP, Finance & IT and Senior Director, Strategic Sourcing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Assist in the establishment of company wide sourcing systems, tools, processes, policies and procedures to support and lead to informed, fact based sourcing decisions.
• Conduct spend reviews and relevant analytical tasks to support and justify sourcing direction and related activity.
• Support sourcing project activity in support of departmental goals.
• Provide necessary analytical and research support to cross-functional teams in various sourcing categories to identify, select, negotiate, establish and source preferred supplier contracts, agreements, leases, supplies and services.
• Develop supplier selection criteria and facilitate team members through a disciplined sourcing process focused on maximizing total value.
• Manage and monitor organizational compliance with all established supplier agreements.
• Communicate to Lines of Business approved suppliers per category.
• Identify, establish, design and share sourcing best practices.
• Benchmark operational costs to industry standards.
• Identify, pursue and maximize opportunities for realizing cost savings without sacrificing the quality, service and reliability expected of our suppliers.
• Interface with Corporate Sourcing to ensure optimal use of procurement and contract management systems in support of departmental goals.
• Provide support to the continued development of the Novo Nordisk Inc Diverse Supplier Initiative, electronic procurement, Ariba platform of services and all ongoing sourcing activities.
• Maintain and update preferred suppliers website.
• Serve as key sourcing liaison with Corporate Sourcing colleagues and manage the tracking/reporting of key departmental metrics.
• Develop and prepare summary reports and presentations as required.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Bachelors/Masters Degree. MBA Preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years previous experience in Strategic Sourcing/Purchasing or Consulting preferred but not required.
• Multiple sourcing category/group experience helpful.
• Pharmaceutical industry experience helpful but not required.
• Successful candidate must have excellent analytical, organizational, communication and people skills.
• Great interpersonal skills.
• Strong knowledge of Strategic Sourcing methodologies, tools, processes and Purchasing practices.
• Must possess the ability to multi-task effectively, complete work in a timely manner and work well with others.
• Extremely proficient in personal computers and all elements of Microsoft Office Suite.
• SAP and Ariba experience helpful.
• Experienced and knowledgeable of electronic procurement solutions.
• Well versed in supplier relationships.
• Familiarity and commitment to supplier diversity.
• Training and change management experience.
• Ability to positively enforce compliance.
• Completion of Certified Professional in Supply Management (C.P.S.M.) designation required within two (2) years of hire.
Additional Information OTHER:
