Our 457,000 square foot aseptic “fill and finish” manufacturing facility in Clayton, NC, currently employs more than 850 people. The facility is part of a global network of manufacturing sites responsible for several key steps in the diabetes treatment manufacturing process, including sterile formulation, filling, inspection, device assembly and packaging.

Position Purpose:
Direct the People & Organization (P&O) team to provide both strategic & tactical Human Resources services & solutions to support the Site Clayton Diabetes Finished Production (DFP) core processes via continuous improvement in the employee life cycle. Collaborate with the Global P&O Center of Excellence, Diabetes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient-US P&O team, & Corporate P&O teams. Lead, guide, facilitate, and support delivery of high quality, on time, HR processes.

  • Oversee, manage & ensure delivery on programs to continuously improve the employee life cycle: attraction, deployment, development, performance, rewards, & exit.
  • Set Human Resources strategy for the success of Site Clayton DFP, including supporting P&O Key Performance Indicators.
  • Provide expert advice & counsel to site management for P&O processes.
  • Establish & continuously improve programs, practices, policies which serve the needs of the business, the needs of employees, & are in current legal compliance. Help organization to find balance. Risk assessment.
  • Serve as a Site Clayton DFP spokesperson & representative to external groups including public sector, volunteerism, other social responsibility calls to action.
  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties.
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned.

Required Education:
BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education & experience.

Desired Education:
MA/MS/MBA degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field. PHR/SPHR certification.

Required Experience:
10+ years of broad human resources management experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Minimum of 5+ years of direct
management experience.

Required Technical/Process/Functional Knowledge:
  • Excellent working knowledge for all functional areas within the profession of Human Resources. Includes relevant employment law at the federal, state & local level including Affirmative Action requirements.
  • Proficient with MS Office software.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, & public speaking skills.
  • Demonstrated excellence in coaching, facilitation, & communication.

Required Organization/Planning:
Outstanding organization & planning skills for P&O leadership & development of meaningful objectives & action plans to support stakeholders.

Physical Requirements:
  • Occasionally moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions.
  • Constantly operates a computer & other office equipment using hands.
  • Able to travel domestically & internationally, up to 20% of the time.
  • Able to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction.
  • Able to work the hours necessary to support a 24/7 continuous manufacturing operation.
  • Able to adjust schedule to work with colleagues in other international time zones.
