Job Description Purpose

Leads key elements of value communication, pricing and contracting strategy, and payer marketing for institutions and non-retail channels in order to optimize profitable access and increase channel market share. Develops plans and executes key programs that will drive long-term profitable relationships with key accounts and the managed markets channel overall. Non-retail encompasses hospitals, clinics, health systems and integrated delivery networks (IDNs), long-term care, Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense.

Relationships

Reports to Senior Director, Value Communication & Contracting Strategy.
Interacts frequently in collaboration with internal management and senior level managed markets customer representatives.
Interacts internally with team representatives from Finance, Brands, HEOR, Government Pricing, U.S. and Global Marketing Management, Account Executives, Supply Chain, Legal, and with team representatives within the Market Access Strategy & Innovation group on a routine basis.
Ensures strong collaboration across functions to maximize brand and portfolio profitability and revenue and to achieve optimal market access for Novo Nordisk diabetes brands in non-retail channels.
External relationships include interactions with non-retail customers, vendors, and external consultants.

Essential Functions

· Leads development and execution of value communication and contracting strategies to non-retail channels for Novo Nordisk products.
· Ensures that pricing and contracting strategies for non-retail channels are aligned with the broader, cross-channel strategies and with customers and market indicators.
· Creates tactics to support Brand/Marketing as well as Account Management and Field Sales for execution in non-retail channels and drives feedback to generate value insights.
· Identifies and strengthens partnership opportunities with key institutional non-retail customers.
· Liaises with PCOR to monitor existing deals, comparing actual results against projected KPIs and developing a contingency plan to bridge any gap.
· Ensures alignment on channel access strategy and key account plans and initiatives by partnering internally with Value Communication and Contracting Strategy colleagues, PCOR, Brands, Medical Affairs, HEOR, Field Sales, Account Management, Analytics, Investor Relations, Regulatory, and all others on a routine basis.
· Collaborates with Trade on ensuring that product is available and reimbursed in non-retail channels in accordance with negotiated prices.
· Leverages understanding of the competitive landscape to anticipate and pre-empt future changes in non-retail channels by developing innovative customer engagement and contracting strategies and tactics.
· Uses industry, reimbursement, and disease area expertise to provide strategic direction and planning in ways that reveal new opportunities, potential threats and mitigating actions.
· Acts as the in-house point-of-contact for insights and knowledge in non-retail channels. Proactively shares insights and knowledge with internal partners.
· Develops and oversees implementation of key metrics. Regularly reviews current program progress to accomplish goals. Understands ROI concepts to ensure program effectiveness.
· Adheres to administrative policies and procedures and encourages others to do the same.
· Contributes to practices that attract and retain the best people.

Qualifications

· A Bachelor's Degree in Business or equivalent experience. MBA or another advanced degree required. Relevant experience may be substituted for degree, when appropriate.
· A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in any of the following areas: market access strategy, channel strategy, managing non-retail channel relationships, national account management, patient reimbursement services, value communication, and/or contract operations.
· A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
· A minimum of two (2) years of leadership experience in any of the roles stated above required.
· Strong understanding of non-retail channels required, including understanding of value communication, pricing and contracting strategy, strategy execution, and logistics.
· Have strong interpersonal; communication; analytical and project management skills.
· Ability to translate strategies into measurable tactical programs that have high ROI.
· Requires leadership skills with the ability to develop and communicate a vision and engage people in that vision.
Ability to access and influence various functional areas and motivate groups to action without direct line management responsibility.
