The Position
Responsible for providing strategic and analytical support, representing the National Account Team in cross-functional initiatives and serving as home office conduit; driving strategy development, goal setting and business planning; supporting team direction, decision making and key meeting design and management; providing pricing summaries and identifying themes and action items; linking to Strategy & Innovation (S&I) team on Long Term Strategy implementation and capability development for future ecosystems.

Reports to Vice President (VP), National Accounts. Serves as home office conduit for National Accounts Team to align priorities and collaborate initiatives with in-house functions. External relationships include interactions with managed customers, as well as vendors and consultants.

Essential Functions
  • Together with National Accounts Leadership Team, supports decision making and sets team directions, priorities, team development roadmaps and resource allocation
  • Collaborate with S&I to pull through long term strategy for National Accounts Team; identify needs and implement initiatives in capability development, customer approach evolvement and team structure adjustment
  • Co-develops the necessary deliverables with S&I, PA and other internal functions to educate and guide the National Accounts Team on evolving access trends and insights and potential strategies to respond to identified changes
  • Represents National Accounts Team in cross-functional team initiatives relating to Novo Nordisk strategic planning and process improvement
  • Collaborates closely with colleagues in Market Access & Public Affairs (MAPA), as well as other internal functions to communicate and align market access insights, strategies and initiatives
  • Coordinates National Accounts business planning and strategy development activities, including goal setting, budget oversight, vendor relations, capabilities matrix, best practices, and analytical platforms
  • Development of Corporate Vice President (CVP)/VP Market Access Executive Level presentations and deliverables
  • Collaborates in designing IC, competency and calibration
  • Assists in the planning and execution of national and regional meetings and teleconferences
  • Tracks implementation of key tactics to ensure timelines are being met
  • Provides assistance to Vice Presidents, Executive Director, Senior Directors, and Directors of National and Area Accounts to ensure AMs have tools and support necessary to their aligned customers
  • Works closely with Market Access Operations for development and oversight of enabling technologies (e.g., Veeva, Slide Library, etc.)
  • Responsible for leading key strategic projects (e.g. business planning, execution plans, etc.)
  • Provides pricing and contracting summaries to support analysis, reporting and decision making
  • Collaborates with S&I Pricing Strategy and Patient Centered Outcomes Research (PCOR) in generating insights, identifying themes, developing recommendations and bringing forward action items
  • Ensures Directors of National Accounts have the required tools to measure their annual goals and alignment within the priorities of the business
  • Monitor Market Access data for trends and outcome shifts, reporting all changes to the Directors of National Accounts
  • Track Market Access formulary win/loss execution

Physical Requirements
10-20% overnight travel required.

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business or equivalent experience. MBA or another advanced degree required. Relevant experience may be substituted for degree, when appropriate
  • A minimum of 12 (12) years of experience in any of the following areas: pricing, contracting, managed markets strategy, or value communication within payer marketing, national account management, consulting, strategic operations, and/or market access strategy
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong understanding of the US payer environment, payer market dynamics, payer marketing principles and how market access organizations make decisions across private & public channels
  • Have strong interpersonal; communication; analytical and project management skills. Role will require significant cross-functional collaboration, both in planning and execution
  • Ability to translate strategies into measurable tactical programs that have high return on investment (ROI)
  • Requires leadership skills with the ability to develop and communicate a vision and engage people in that vision
  • Ability to access and influence various functional areas and motivate groups to action without direct line management responsibility
