Job Description Purpose
Responsible for supporting the development of market access strategies for Novo Nordisk that span across the entire portfolio of products, both inline and pipeline. Supports initiatives to optimize Novo Nordisk performance in the managed markets arena, including Value Based Contracting. Responsible for coordinating the annual development of the Market Access strategy, specifically, integrating within Strategy & Innovation as well as across NNI (e.g. brand Marketing, Medical, HEOR)


· Reports to Senior Director, Strategy & Portfolio Innovation.
· Interacts frequently in collaboration with internal Strategy & Innovation management
· Interacts internally with colleagues from Strategy & Portfolio Innovation, as well as team representatives from Value Communication, Contracting Strategy, Account Executives, on a routine basis.
· Ensures strong collaboration across functions to leverage on collective knowledge and insights.
· External relationships primarily involve vendors and consultants.

Essential Functions

· Supports the development and implementation of market access strategies for inline and pipeline products across the Novo Nordisk portfolio and across all channels.
· Collaborates with Strategy & Innovation colleagues to understand the competitive landscape to anticipate and pre-empt future competitor moves to create strategic opportunities for enhancing portfolio performance through the development of innovative plans and strategies based on the holistic Novo Nordisk portfolio.
· Monitors and assesses the US market access environment to identify trends and policy changes, including but not limited to changes in healthcare policy, government healthcare programs, managed care, payment models, comparative effectiveness, customer engagement, and coverage and reimbursement.
· Supports the coordination of the annual development of Market Access strategies through integration of strategies across the Strategy & Innovation team. Supports S&I Strategic Planning with internal NNI initiatives relating to NNI strategic planning
· Supports value story development and communication efforts in the managed markets space that are focused on non-branded concepts.
· Collaborates closely with team representatives from MA Ops and Account Executives to gather customer insights and understand gaps in the patient journey. Designs non-branded customer programs to bridge identified gaps
· Responsible for development of non-branded strategy for MA Account teams. Close collaboration with Marketing and MA Ops to ensure proper communication delivered along with tactical support.
· Sets strategic imperatives, evaluates strategy success against those imperatives and regularly reviews customer programs in order to accomplish business objectives. Understands ROI concepts to ensure program effectiveness.
· Works collaboratively with Value Communication, Contracting Strategy, Account Executives, Field Sales, and brand marketing to develop and implement a strategic and tactical approach to Market Access strategies.
· Coordinates the development of strategic imperatives and mechanisms to evaluate strategy success against those imperatives.
· Supports the development of local market-specific pilot programs to incubate new ideas and the tracking of program progress and results to accomplish business objectives.
· Provides operational support in the development of Value Based contracting platforms which may include analytical and operational and collaboration across NNI and Global organizations.
· Supports portfolio-based and other innovative contracting strategies for inline and pipeline products, in order to maximize profitable access.
· Efficient execution of ad-hoc strategy projects, leveraging both internal and external resources as needed
· Adheres to administrative policies and procedures and encourages others to do the same.
· Contributes to practices that attract and retain the best people.

· A Bachelor's Degree required. MBA or another advanced degree desired.
· A minimum of six (6) years of experience in any of the following areas: pricing, contracting, customer engagement modeling, customer programs, value communication, payer marketing, account management, consulting, and/or market access strategy.
· A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the healthcare industry.
· Strong understanding of the US payer environment, payer market dynamics, payer marketing principles and how market access organizations make decisions across private & public channels is highly desired.
· Strong interpersonal; communication; analytical and project management skills. Role will require significant cross-functional collaboration, both in planning and execution.
· Ability to access and influence various functional areas and motivate groups to action without direct line management responsibility.
· Ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships, including direct collaboration with vendors and other third parties.
· Ability to function in a project leadership role.
· Attention to detail with an ability and readiness to delve into and resolve data problems.
· Excellent PC skills required. Expert knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint required.
