Purpose
The Senior Business Analyst, Clinical Development & Outcomes Research (CD&OR) is an essential part of ensuring effective, timely and compliant execution of all activities in CD&OR.


Relationships
The Senior Business Analyst, CD&OR, reports directly to the Vice President of CD&OR. The incumbent works closely with CD&OR directors and senior leadership, legal, finance, and other departments within CMR.


Essential Functions
The Senior Business Analyst, CD&OR manages the budget, contracting, and vendor relationships of all teams in CD&OR providing insights and updates to CD&OR senior leadership team. This includes contract negotiations and fair market value assessments with our research partners i.e. health systems, health plans, or employer groups. The incumbent secures compliance with existing policies and processes and optimization of function through improving processes and utilizing technology.

Management of CD&OR Budgets:

  • Manages the budget for CD&OR projects and activities across company’s portfolio of products. Facilitates annual planning process, coordinates monthly tracking with CD&OR leadership and Novo Nordisk Inc. (NNI) finance and manages the budget cycles.
  • Tracks and pays invoices
  • Conducts regular meetings with portfolio- and project owners
  • Presents budget status at individual department meetings
Management of CD&OR Contracts:
  • Serves as an expert in CD&OR on company’s key policies and processes related to contracting and vendor management
  • Inputs terms to contracting team and ensures timely execution of contracts
Contract negotiations in customer-based research
  • Works with Value Evidence & Outcomes (VEO), legal, compliance to support contract negotiations
  • Works directly with the customers contract lead to understand the funding line items and make sure they are in line with our expectations and fair market value
Fair market value assessment
  • Works with legal and 3rd party vendors to develop and implement fair market value frameworks
  • Continually update and document the fair market value assessment framework

Ad hoc analysis and compliance reporting.

Physical Requirements
0-10% overnight travel required

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required; relevant experience may be substituted for degree, when appropriate and dependent on requirements of the position.
  • At least 4 years of progressively responsible relevant experience required
  • Budgeting or analytical experience required, contracting experience, understanding of fair market value assessment, legalities of a customer contract is a plus
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Interest in technology and process improvement is a plus
  • Works well under pressure, with initiative to take on unfamiliar tasks
  • Communication and problem-solving skills
