The QC Environmental Monitoring Scientist will be NNUSBPI's subject matter expert on industrial/pharmaceutical Environmental Monitoring (EM) for the facility. This role ensures the facility EM program is in line with industry, regulatory and corporate practice. The QC EM Scientist will need to exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions, while maintaining a high level of compliance with cGMP’s. We're looking for candidates with the knowledge, skills & abilities and experience:

Education:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biological sciences or related field with a minimum of eight (8) years’ related experience or a Master’s/PhD with a minimum three (3) years of related experience.
Experience:
  • Must have a minimum two (2) years’ experience in a lead role within a biotech/pharmaceutical environmental monitoring program.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience with project management and cross functional team coordination.
Skills & abilities:
  • Must be able to work independently in a team based setting and function in a rapidly changing environment while balancing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills are also required with the ability to author/review scientific and technical reports.
Physical requirements and working environment:
  • The ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, and walk.
  • The ability to push, pull, lift, finger, feel, and grasp.
  • The ability to speak, listen, and understand verbal and written communication.
  • Repetition including substantial movement of wrists, hands, and or fingers.
  • Lifting up to 33lbs/15kg of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • The worker is required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
  • Visual acuity to perform close activities such as: reading, writing, and analyzing; and to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.
  • The working environment includes a variety of physical conditions including: inside and outside conditions including temperature changes; proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals, fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
